The Do This, Get That Guide On Online ESL 1st Grade Program

'If the darkness of ignorance is to be dispelled then the sun of education has to rise'. I have long been concerned for underprivileged children, especially those who are unable to access education due to lack of resources or poverty. They are not only enjoying the joy of essentials but also have what they want and desire; a luxurious living providing them an extra comfort. Millions of children around the world lack access to basic necessities, such as food, clean water, sanitation, medicine, shelter, education, books, fun, family, love - but there is hope. So many children are born talented, have immense capacity for understanding and are naturally bright - but poverty has deprived them of an education. Once a scholar said that "the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet" and I came to learn this eternal truth from an early age. On one hand, there are people who live their life lavishly.

Basically, there was no education. Monks and priests as well as a few nobility could read and write, but the population as a whole couldn't.

The changes in the education system caused by the Coronavirus are challenging for children, parents, and society. There could be failures in these abrupt changes but there are also advantages such as innovating the traditional education system that we have been using for hundreds of years. Perhaps we need these challenges to have the courage to try new things like adopting technologies in education. Delivering education using new methods is risk-taking but is necessary to prevent further damage from the pandemic.

These strategies encourage readers to interact with text and construct meaning from what they read. Strategies such as questioning, making connections, visualizing, inferring, determining importance, and synthesizing can be utilized to foster comprehension skills while children read.

In summary, reading comprehension is far more than just reading words on a page. This mentally stimulating activity is pivotal for cognitive development, critical thinking, and academic success. It involves active engagement with the text, ability to draw connections, analysis, conclusions, inferences, and reflection.

With the use of computers and internet connection, teachers and students can conduct classes while staying at home. This is a great alternative to traditional frontal classes as it ensures absolute social distancing which is necessary to prevent the spread of the disease. One of the options to continue education while we are still experiencing the threat of the COVID-19 is to bring education to online platforms.

Reading specialists or speech and language therapists can provide tailored support to children struggling with comprehension. In such cases, it’s important to identify the problem areas and engage with appropriate interventions. Reading comprehension difficulties may arise due to various reasons including learning disabilities or lack of exposure to rich language experiences.

Reading aloud to children from an early age, sharing interactive reading experiences, discussing and asking questions about the story, themes, or characters are practices that encourage comprehension. Moreover, introducing a variety of genres provides exposure to different writing styles and vocabulary, enhancing the overall comprehension. Parents and educators play a significant role in developing a child’s reading comprehension skills.

Encouraging reading for pleasure and inculcating healthy reading habits from early childhood can significantly improve reading comprehension skills. As children navigate through this journey of learning to read and reading to learn, they essentially unlock a lifetime of knowledge, wisdom, and imagination.

In addition, many parents are forced to leave their work as they have to take care of their young children which affects the family's income. Some schools provide free meals for their students which are taken advantage by parents who are in poverty. Hence, school closure causes hunger to millions of children across the world. Many families especially in low-income countries rely on schools not only for education but for food and childcare. School closure and changes in the education system caused significant impacts on families.
